Cadillac’s reputation has diminished over the past two decades but General Motors believes the new lightweight, rear-wheel-drive ATS can restore some of the lost luster. The ATS comes with exterior styling emphasizing the car’s aerodynamics; an interior packed with technology and luxury materials such as carbon fiber trim accents; as well as an efficient standard power train that the EPA says delivers 33 miles per gallon. Among the other features found on the ATS are high-intensity discharge headlamps with “Adaptive Forward Lighting,” which swivels the headlights in the direction you are turning; new safety sensors that keep the driver alert like lane departure warning and blind-side alert. Prices start at $34,000.
