Cincinnati to Kansas City (and sometimes Omaha), 1972/ Relo Rating: 4
When the Cincinnati Royals ownership beheaded Queen City hoops fans and decamped west, the club did achieve a certain kind of sports immortality: It became the only Big 4 sports team to simultaneously claim two cities as base, splitting its home games between KC and Omaha. And so it kept doing through the end of the 1974-75 season, when management abandoned this noble-but-strange experiment. Much the same can be said about the club’s 13-year sojourn in the heartland, a fairly nondescript tenure that few hoops fans mourn. Even those in KC or Omaha.
