At $18 apiece, the specialty cocktails served at New York City’s Algonquin Hotel may seem expensive. But they’re a bargain compared to the hotel’s very special $10,000 martini: “It comes with a single piece of ice – a diamond from the in-house jeweler, Bader & Garrin.” Let’s hope anyone game for ordering one doesn’t down the concoction in one gulp, bling and all. A three-martini lunch probably isn’t a good idea either.
