What happened instead is that users were horrified as they suffered scalp burns and their hair broke and “melted.” Manufacturer Unilever pulled the product last May, but some angry customers filed a lawsuit against the company, saying they suffered “hair loss to the point of visible bald spots, terrible breakage, [and] discoloration.”
