Sascha Meinrath is vice president of the New America Foundation and director of the Open Technology Institute (OTI), where he leads the group’s efforts to advance policy and regulatory reforms that protect Internet freedom and promote competition in the telecommunications market. A fierce advocate for consumers, and one of the leading proponents of “network neutrality,” Meinrath serves as a counterweight to the powerful telecom and wireless industry lobby in Washington, D.C. Meinrath was named one of the “Top 100” in Newsweek’s Digital Power Index in 2012, and has been described as a “community Internet pioneer” and an “entrepreneurial visionary.”

The Open Technology Institute, which Meinrath founded, is a D.C.-based tech-tank that promotes public policy solutions and develops technological advancements in collaboration with universities and experts around the world.
