Twitter creator Jack Dorsey is sometimes called “the next Steve Jobs” for his obsessive and visionary focus on product development. Dorsey, one of the most respected startup entrepreneurs in the country, created Twitter in 2006 and the service became the belle of the ball at the 2007 South By Southwest Interactive conference. Today, Twitter has transformed media, entertainment and politics, and is worth an estimated $10 billion.

Dorsey’s latest startup is mobile payments company Square, which has raised $341 million in venture capital funding, according to CrunchBase, and is now worth an estimated $3.25 billion. Square manufactures a piece of hardware that allows anyone with a smartphone to accept credit card payments. Dorsey, 36, has a net worth estimated at $1.1 billion and has personally invested in several high-profile startups, including Kickstarter, Foursquare and Instagram. He recently said that being mayor of New York City is his dream job.
