Hyundai will run six ads during the Super Bowl, this one scheduled to air during the second quarter. While driving their Hyundai Sonata Turbo, a couple passes a motley crew of vehicles on the highway that get more and more absurd, beginning with a mildly repulsive biker and ending with a truck that appears to be carrying nuclear weapons and another loaded with fireworks. It lets viewers empathize with the road-tripping couple while entertainingly portraying the Sonata’s ability to accelerate without even mentioning its 2-liter, 274-horsepower engine. “Why Turbo?” asks the ad’s narrator (who, it turns out, is actor Jeff Bridges). “Trust us. It’s just better to be in front.” If their other ads are even remotely like this one, “Stuck” could drive Hyundai to a company record for advertising traffic this year. (The automaker has also released its second ad, this one for the Santa Fe and called “Team.”)
