The Corvette, one of General Motors’ most renowned vehicles, almost vanished during the company’s bankruptcy. But the seventh generation Corvette will reach show rooms this year with a sleek new silhouette and a dramatic new front end, as well as a split rear window that recalls the earlier versions of the car. The roof and hood of the new ‘Vette are made of carbon fiber, while it rides on the most advanced chassis ever developed by GM. The 2014 Stingray is powered by a V8 engine, producing 450 horsepower and capable of going from zero to 60 in less than four seconds. Estimated starting price is $65,000 to $70,000.
