During the 2012 Super Bowl, a memorable Chevy ad bragged that its trucks would survive the 2012 apocalypse, while its competitors just wouldn’t be up to the challenge. Yet other vehicles seem implicitly built for a post-apocalyptic landscape: A review of the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon notes that it’s “zombie apocalypse approved,” while the Land Rover DC100 seems designed for “doomsday predictors and survivalists.” The latter is equipped with all sorts of survive-anything gear, including “Wade Aid” sonar sensors and a snorkel system for driving through water. While not known for being particularly rugged, Hyundai is also suggesting its Elantra as the post-apocalypse vehicle of choice, via a comic book made with the creators of “The Walking Dead.”
