Chase’s Freedom credit card first became popular when it began offering a $100 bonus for new customers who spent a certain amount of money in three months. Now there’s an additional $100 bonus tempting consumers to sign up.
If you just go to the Chase website, you may not see anything regarding the extra $100 bonus. But at various credit card resources, including NerdWallet, you’ll find links to the special new offer, which is hands-down one of the most generous intro offers out there.
In addition to the normal new customer bonus—$100 cash back if you spend $500 in the first three months with the card—Chase is now offering an extra $100 cash back for customers who spend another $1,000 over the following six months. All told, that’s $200 cash back for spending $1,500, which amounts to a discount of roughly 13% on whatever you buy with the card (up to $1,500, of course).
As always, this Chase card has no annual fee, and pays 1% back on all other purchases, along with 5% back on a rotating list of merchandise. In July, August, and September, for example, card holders get 5% back on gas, hotels, and airlines, up to a total of $1,500 spent.
