Is there anything sexier than the phrase, “Honey, I got it on sale”? Experts say that June is the optimal months for bargain hunters in the market for bare essentials at barely-there prices.
In its monthly guide to the best and worst things to buy, the deal-tracking site dealnews named lingerie as one of the smartest buys in June. (June is also expected to be an excellent month for cheap prices on HDTVs, laptops, and cruises.) Here’s why shoppers can snag inexpensive lingerie right now:
It’s usually this month that Victoria’s Secret unveils its famed Semi-Annual Sale, and last year we saw prices as low as $3 for panties and $12 for bras. Moreover, we saw excellent lingerie deals in June from aerie by American Eagle, Frederick’s of Hollywood, Macy’s, Soma Intimates, and Figleaves.

In fact, Victoria’s Secret has indeed just launched its Semi-Annual Sale, which includes clearance items priced as low as $3.99. Online lingerie specialist Bare Necessities is also in the midst of its Semi-Annual Sale, which offers including 50% off hundreds of bras.
The folks at dealnews, however, note that June isn’t the lone period for lingerie deals. The October-December period last year also saw more than its share of discounts on lingerie. But overall, the consensus seems to be that summer is peak season for lingerie sales. In a Q&A posted on a Washington Post blog, the founder of TheLingerie Addict website points to July as another top month for lingerie sales, based on fashion industry cycles.
