After one year as a creative director at Blackberry, singer Alicia Keys’ time at the company will officially end on Jan. 31. Last January, the 32-year-old singer was given the title during the launch of the smartphone company’s Blackberry 10 operating system, CNN reports.
During her short stint as creative director, a position celebrities including Lady Gaga and Will.i.am hold at Polaroid and Intel, respectively, Keys was the face of Blackberry initiatives including the “Keep Moving Project” and the Blackberry Scholars Program which gives scholarships to women in STEM.
The collaboration between Keys and Blackberry comes at the end of a turbulent year for the company, during which the company announced plans to cut 4,500 jobs and fired CEO Thorsten Heins. According to CNN, Blackberry did not comment on why the relationship with Keys is ending.
