Taco Bell has surpassed the $1 billion mark in sales of its popular Doritos Locos Tacos, a Taco Supreme encased in a shell made from Doritos Nacho Cheese chips. Company spokesperson Ashley Sioson revealed the milestone to the Huffington Post on Wednesday.
The fast food chain sold one million Doritos Locos Tacos last year while hiring more than 15,000 employees to help manage the growth from the menu item’s popularity, the Daily Beast reported in March. Taco Bell CEO Greg Creed called the taco’s release in March the “biggest launch in Taco Bell history.”
