Another vacation home that is currently on the market is President Gerald Ford’s Colorado ski home. Ford was an avid skier and golfer, which led to his purchase of a ski-in/ski-out homesite at Beaver Creek Resort near Vail, a few years after he lost the 1976 presidential election.
While Ford’s main home was in Palm Springs, Calif., Ford built a vacation home at Beaver Creek, which was used extensively for 23 years as a family gathering place. He was always there for the Ford Golf Tournament, “Gerry Ford and Friends,” held in Vail.
