Groupon, the group-buying site in which members get discounts on everything from bike tours to spa treatments so long as enough people sign up, has just selected a “Groupawn.” The ‘pawn will live for a year solely on merchandise, food, and services available through Groupon. And the prize for successfully “grouping on” for a full 365 days will be $100K.

Among the many young white slackers who entered the competition, a gentleman named Josh Stevens was chosen to Live Off Groupon. Groupon proudly calls attention to CNET’s description of its contest as: “one of the most ridiculous social media promotions that any brand has attempted to pull off.”

Check out the video featuring some of the zanier ‘pawn candidates, along with the lowdown on six finalists and the eventual winner:

Look for Josh’s Groupon experiment (which shouldn’t be confused in any way with Josh Groban) to begin the week of May 10.
