Breaking news: Tim Geithner knows how to swear!

The talk of the Twittersphere tonight is Damian Paletta and Deborah Solomon’s WSJ story about Tim Geithner cutting loose on Ben Bernanke, Sheila Bair, Mary Schapiro et. al. in an “expletive-laden critique last Friday as frustration grows over the Obama administration’s faltering plan to overhaul U.S. financial regulation.” He’s frustrated with the flak he’s been getting from various financial regulators about (1) giving the Fed new powers as the systemic risk regulator and (2) taking the consumer regulatory functions away from the banking regulators and giving them to a new Consumer Financial Protection Agency. I don’t want anybody to go all Ian Shapira on me, so I guess I’ll just link to the WSJ story again and say that while of course swearing is terribly wrong, I have a certain sympathy with Timmy here. But then, I don’t think his bathroom is hideous either, so perhaps I’m not to be trusted in these matters.
