Chrysler said Friday that it is recalling 1.2 million of its iconic Ram trucks to fix potential steering problems.

It said that fewer than half of the trucks, including several models dating back to 2003, will likely need the front-end repairs because of tie-rods in the steering system that could be out of alignment.

The company said in its announcement that it knows of seven crashes and two injuries involving models that are being recalled.

The Associated Press lists all the models in question, and owners with questions can call (800) 853-1403.
