PCs are the tech tools of millennials’ parents. For this wireless generation, it’s all about mobile, and Microsoft was aiming squarely at teens and young adults when it rolled out the Surface tablet last fall. It brought celebrities like Gwen Stefani and Jessica Alba on board, and E! Online noted, “Stars including Selena Gomez, Emma Roberts, Emmy Rossum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum are serious fans.” The jury is still out on the Surface’s fate; Microsoft just had to slash prices because early sales weren’t as high as expected, but a January Forbes article reported that there are signs today’s teens are embracing the Surface and spurning Apple’s iPad.
