Signs You May Be a Cowardly Leader

Is cowardice the worst characteristic a leader can have?

Mike Staver’s new book, “Leadership Isn’t for Cowards,” suggests that might be the case. So what are some of the signs you might be a cowardly leader? Staver lists quite a few.

A cowardly leader is one who takes the easy way out, puts off critical decisions or pretends not to notice problems that need to be dealt with. He or she spends too much time bemoaning the past or worrying about the future. Cowardly leaders see only the information that agrees with their beliefs and blame others rather than take responsibility.

If any of this sounds familiar, step back and take a moment to relax and be refreshed. Then with a clear, quiet mind, you might notice the places you need to back off and take a different approach, one that inspires rather than just contributes to or avoids the problem.
