It might not be Debbie Downer who’s lowering the morale in your business; it might be Bob Bummer.

According to new research from Randstad, women are generally more upbeat and happy in their jobs than men, who are more likely to see the glass as half-empty.

A few facts from the Randstad survey:

  • 65% of women and 55% of men are confident in the future of their employer
  • 14% of men and 10% of women are actively seeking a new job
  • 52% of women and 47% of men give their employers high marks for training opportunities

Women are also more upbeat on the economy in general. 39% of men and 31% of women feel left behind in their career because of the economy, while 19% of men and 15% of women think they’re likely to lose their job this year.
