There are still a couple of days left for consumers to take advantage of this week’s free breakfast giveaway at Chick-fil-A. The restaurant chain is giving away a choice of breakfast entrees to customers who make reservations in advance online.

A freebie promotion that started on Monday stretches through Saturday, September 10, at Chick-fil-A locations around the country. To snag a free breakfast, follow the link in the previous sentence, find a nearby Chick-fil-A location, and make a reservation in an available time slot. (The chain is limiting reservations to one-hour windows, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., for example.) Then, show up at the proper time and collect the entrée you reserved, free of charge.

Generally speaking, diners have a choice of around eight entrees, including a sausage breakfast burrito, multigrain oatmeal, and a chicken breakfast burrito. (This place specializes in chicken, even for breakfast.)

I’m not sure how many diners head to fast-food establishments expecting healthy, nutritional fare, but the Los Angeles Times took a close look at the nutritional info for Chick-fil-A’s breakfast treats, and guess what? Many are overloaded with carbs and calories. For example:

The sausage breakfast burrito comes in at a whopping 510 calories, 12 grams of saturated fat and 2 grams of fiber. You will get getting a decent amount of protein–23 grams–but also 40 grams of carbs with it.
