“SPF 15 blocks approximately 93 percent of all incoming UVB rays. SPF 30 blocks 97 percent; and SPF 50 blocks 98 percent.” Think that’s confusing?
Only if you can't understand basic arithmetic or cant write.
“SPF 15 passes 1/15 of all incoming UVB rays. SPF 30 passes 1/30; and SPF 50 passes 1/50.”
“SPF 15 allows 15 times the exposure to UVB rays. SPF 30 allows 30 times the exposure; and SPF 50 allows 50 times the exposure.”
1/15 = about 0.06667 , 1/30 = about 0.03334 , 1/50 = 0.02
It seems pretty simple to me
“There is no scientific evidence that any herbal, homeopathic or other folk remedies have any benefit against influenza.” ... is a total lie. I wonder if the author is paid to put out this federal propeganda to help support the vaccine industry and their Washington DC lobbyists!?! People cannot be fooled. Vitamin C can ward off Flu and Colds. Look into the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University.http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CDUQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Flpi.oregonstate.edu%2F&ei=0tPQUIfZFLDmiwK1ooDwAQ&usg=AFQjCNELCQCyqlmNWUHUZZMilmydu5w5Kg&bvm=bv.1355534169,d.cGE
Why in the world would anyone tell people NOT to take vitamins and supplements? Less harmful effects than the chemicals in drugs and more likely good side effects. Vitamin C, people? Hello!
It should be noted that if you're driving a higher-end Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz or Porsche model, I would still recommend going with 91 octane gasoline. While modern engines from the models I mentioned have knock sensors to change the spark plug and valve timing to more or less eliminate engine knocking, it does it at the expense of power and often fuel economy.
Most modern engines for family or economy cars are designed with 87 pump octane (91 RON as it is known in Europe) in mind, so going with 91 pump octane (95 RON) is overkill.
There is no "homeopathic medicine". It's homeo-pathetic crap, and it's sometimes harmful.Paper towels are a waste, period. Your wallet and the environment would both be better off buying a lot of extra washable dishcloths. Those who drive have no excuse for buying bottled water. Get a reusable container and fill it at home to take with you.Sunscreen is a waste, period. Buy lightweight nylon long sleeve shirts for summer, and rashguards for the beach. Most fabrics block all UVA and UVB rays."100 calorie packs"? Whoever wrote that is an idiot. Stop buying and eating packaged food, period. Eat fresh or dried fruit and homemade snacks. It's healthier and cheaper.Lotteries are a voluntary tax on the poor. If you stopped spending $10 per week on lotteries, within a year you'd have over $500 dollars extra, and in ten years close to $6000 with interest. A lot of people waste more than that. Most college textbooks are scams. Those assigning them profit from doing so. Students should buy one and copy it - scan the pages and share.
I buy cheap paper towels (and liquid dish washing soap) because my kids use what they use....regardless of durability/ absorption, (or concentration/ subsability).
Martha! Chicken soup DOES help -- MEDICALLY! I've long enjoyed your writing and been entertained as well as informed, so first, thanks. Somehow I missed this when it first came out so I was happy to have discovered it -- but, the chicken soup info is NOT right!
Almost every nutritional tome will point out that chicken, particularly the white meat, is rich in just what the immune system needs and that is not lost in the preparation of the soup. Check it out!
And thanks again for the excellent work you do.
@Allornuthin By vitamin C, you mean the chemical L-ascorbic acid, right? Everything is made of chemicals. Including you and me. And supplements. And organic produce.
@awenshok Dont forget the pepper. It has expectorant properties.
