Best known as the wise-cracking style guru on “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,” Kressley is now co-hosting “Your OWN Show” on the Oprah Winfrey Network, and talked about bargain-shopping techniques recently with dealnews. One thing Kressley always suggests is to shop early for gifts so that you can find good prices—and actually pick something the recipient would like—rather than desperately scrounging for gifts at the last minute:
That’s a great tip. When you’re in a panic you spend more. I did a lot of stuff on Cyber Monday because there were a lot of special incentives. I shop at outlet malls throughout the year in case I see something amazing. I’d rather give someone something amazing if I can get a deal at an outlet mall than give them something average that’s not so ‘wow!’
