When your wireless bill goes up by 20¢ or 40¢, it’s hardly a cause for outrage. Or is it? As an LA Times story reports, T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint Nextel have all quietly been raising monthly fees with no good rationale, no legit reason.
An advocacy group director rightly calls these charges “because they can fees.” And if wireless firms are upping their fees simply because they can, well, then maybe that is a reason for customers to get royally miffed. When you add up all the pennies, these companies are making a good chunk of change—on the backs of its customers, of course.
