Snow day

snow-day

As you can see, we didn’t get a huge amount of snow in Manhattan overnight. But schools chancellor Joel Klein has decided in his wisdom that “today’s a day for a snow day,” and New York City public schools are closed because of snow for the first time since Curious Capitalist Jr. began attending five years ago. Guess I’m working from home today.

LET IT SNOW AS THE DOW GOES UP IN SMOKE
    WilliamBanzai7

Oh the weather outside is delightful
But the markets just so frightful
And since it has no place to go but low
Let It Snow! As the Dow goes up in smoke!

The Bailout madness shows no signs of stopping
And AIG’s billion dollar losses just keep on popping
So turn the thermostat way down low
Let It Snow! As the Dow goes up in smoke!

Warren says we can kiss our asses goodbye
But how I’d hate going down on the fly!
So if we put up a real good fight
All through this storm we’ll be warm tonight!

    The markets are slowly diving
And, your ears can hear all the Bulls crying
And as your 401(k) goes up in smoke
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Indeed, it was a snowy Monday in New York, and a real chilly one at that.

In responding to the unprecedented loss of AIG coupled by its third bailout in almost as many months, NYSE faced yet another blue Monday. Dow finally decides to shrink below the sensitive level of 7000 (as I have always said).

The NYSE is sitting right in the middle of a gigantic QUICKSAND pit. Inevitably, with all the incessant bad and negative news from the giant financial institutions, it would keep sinking until such time when it hits the rock bottom.

But who knows how deep down the rock is? Perhaps it must be fine as long as it is not a bottomless pit. (Tan Boon Tee)
