Wow, life in Time‘s D.C. office is just so, well, thrilling. Here’s the bureau chief reacting just minutes ago to Ana Marie Cox’s admonition that he needs to post on Swampland more often. (Actually, he’s reacting to me saying I’m about to take his picture with my cameraphone, but he reacted the same way to Ana about five seconds before.) The conflict! The glamor! And isn’t it great that we can take pictures of each other, then sell ads against them?

Spain’s Prime Minister Warns Country Is in Danger of Being Shut Out of Markets

MADRID — Spain‘s prime minister warned Wednesday that the country faced the danger of being locked out of international markets as investors continued to fret about the future of the euro and Greece’s place in the 17-country eurozone.

“Right now there is a serious risk that (investors) will not lend us money or they will do so at an astronomical rate,” Mariano Rajoy told Spanish lawmakers.

and not to put too fine a point on it, but there is something really cabally about an organization whose selection committee is made up of the owners of the worlds biggest media companies (except for Queen Babelicious) holding a three day meeting for “young global leaders” where almost everything is “off the record”

Not that I’m a big believer in massive conspiracies to control the media (and thus, the WORLD! Mwaahahahaha!), but still….
